Lets put the 2D vs 3D aspect to the side. That is just a matter of personal taste and I prefer 2D style for an anime game. My issue with SZ isn't that it doesn't look good. They pulled off an amazing thing with their 3D models. It looks gorgeous. BUT I prefer characters to be more buff like in dbfz and thats definitely possible. They could change that but in dbs characters were made more slim so they are going along with that style it seems. Thats my problem with SZ. If they made their characters more buff it would be sick

Man Budokai 1 was ahead of its time. looking back this was really special.

As much as i enjoy FighterZ. Sparking Zero beats everything FighterZ has for me. Also i will note the Super Saiyan power up in DBFZ was lackluster at best, it had no hype weight to it. Meanwhile in the recent DBSZ trailer, we got goku going Super Saiyan with utter rage saying: "You RUTHLESS, HEARTLESS BASTARD!!" even with a voice crack. DBFZ is more spectacle while DBSZ is more accuracy.

I still think Budokai's cutscenes are better than Kakarot. I love the way everything feels, it had this edge that made the world seem much more real and intense. Kakarot has good animation but the aesthetic feels more "cartoonish" for lack of a better word. It's like Budokai captured the Funimation Dub/Bruce Faulconer vibe while Kakarot leans to something Kai fans would prefer.
